FAQS
Got a question?
Check out some of my FAQs below, and if this doesn’t help
please email me directly.
What materials do you use to make your art?
All my art is traditionally made, using Micron pens or more commonly I will use traditional cartography pen nibs and ink for more fine detail, watercolour paper, and gouache paint. The process for every piece is always a bit different, it just depends on the result i am after. But generally thats what I use.
How long does it take to make a piece of art?
Too long. haha. Ink drawing artwork is certainly a labour of love more than anything It takes me several weeks to make small pieces or even many months to complete a large piece. for example, “Water Tigers” took me around 6 months from start to finish.
I’m interested in buying an original, how can I find out more?
If you’d like to enquire about what originals are available for purchase, or if you would like to discuss a particular piece you may wish to purchase, just drop me an email and I’m happy to discuss!
I bought a print from your store! When will it arrive?
Firstly, thank you so much for your order. I usually try to be as quick as possible when sending out artwork purchases, usually i will package and dispatch prints within 3 days ordering. But please keep in mind that I am a single person running my own studio, times can be very busy. I check, sign and package all of the artwork myself, to make sure everything is perfect. If you have concerns or are in a rush, please do send me an email when buying something and I can do my best.
The country I live in is not available in your shipping options! Can I still buy?
Yes! Of course you can still purchase a print. This is usually just an online setting that may not be set up yet. All you need to do, is email me where in the world you wish to deliver to (“E.g. Kenya”) and I can update my checkout options for you. This also helps me out if i have missed a country.
Why are all your prints limited edition?
A limited edition print means that the artist will only ever produced a fixed number of this print. This means the edition of artwork is extra special, and you can feel pretty special knowing you have 1 of only 50, 100, or 200 in the whole world. I make all of my artworks in limited editions in order to make them prints extra special and valuable to the buyer.
What is a Certificate of Authenticity?
A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) is an important piece of paperwork that should come with all limited edition prints to confirm that the print you have purchased is an authentic copy. it also acts in a sort of ‘receipt’ for the buyer. This helps the buyer retain the value of the artwork of time. The CoA should be kept safe.
What is a Giclée Print?
Giclée is a French term meaning “to spray” and it is a printing method wonderfully suited to fine art and illustration. Giclée prints are produced by firing extremely small droplets of ink onto specially coated paper to build a colour or black and white print. Giclée fine art printing creates stunning results. Giclée fine art prints achieve bold, true to life colours in exquisite detail.
The advantages of Giclee prints are the ability to print on a wide variety of media ranging from ultra-smooth coated papers to highly textured papers, wallpapers and canvas. The longevity of prints is 100+ years plus under the correct conditions and b/w prints up to 200 years.
Can I buy a print in a different size?
I’m sorry, my prints come only in one size. All my prints come in a standard, true to original size. I only release a print edition in one size as that is how i feel they look best and reflect the original art. If you after something in a different size, do check out the rest of my prints as I try to make art in all different sizes!
Can I return a print that I have purchased?
If you have an issue with the print, please get in touch with me and I will do my best. If there is damage to the print or the quality is an issue, I can replace or accept a return. If you have just had a change of heart (</3), i’m afraid I don’t usually accept returns for this reason.
