ARTIST BIO:

Clara M Cornish is a traditional fine artist based in Dorset, UK. She uses traditional dip pens with cartography nibs and gouache to create fantastical scenes inspired by the flora and fauna surrounding our world. Clara's work captures emotional states and raw feelings, sitting somewhere between the real and the imagined. With a blend of highly detailed work, washes of colour and compositions, her work places the viewer into these dreamlike worlds, filling them with a sense of wanderlust.

“West Yorkshire born and raised, I am a digital and traditional artist now based in the South-West.

I have worked in-house as a sketch artist & illustrator for a creative agency in London, working on major film and TV campaigns. Now I am working freelance across a range of industries, from advertising to book publishing, film and museum exhibitions. And that’s how I like it, varied work with a whole range of different briefs. Whatever the project, I enjoy exploring new challenges and different styles of art.

When I’m not drawing, you can usually catch me running (slowly) up hills, climbing, exploring the outdoors or eating something delicious. I live peacefully by the cliffs, with my partner and our beloved English Bull Terrier.”
