“ Sandhill Cranes are famously known for their monogamous pairing. They mate for life with a singular partner, a relationship that is sustained up to the 30 years lifespan they can have. These beautiful birds will continuously court and dance with each other all year, but especially in the mating season. These cranes also never leave each other's side. Often they will bring gifts and small offerings to each other. This artwork is an interpretation of the incredibly close and beautiful relationship between the partnered animals.
Their lives become intermingled with each other in every aspect, just as in this painting their bodies merge and intermingled through the canvas. One bird offers the other a small branch of cherry blossom, marking the first turn of the seasons in spring, a romantic gesture.The birds sweep and dance across the canvas, dancing a dance they know very well together, but still repeat to keep the connection strong. “

Framing: Framed in a UK grown ash wood frame with a Jacobian dark stain finish with beeswax polish.
